Dr. Sarumi is a graduate of the University College London Medical School in the U.K. She completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Sarumi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care. After 10 years as a Surgical Intensivist, Dr. Sarumi became interested in skin immunobiology and completed training and certification in Aesthetic Medicine. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our medical spa practice.

I came in for my second treatment on my sideburns. Even though I didn’t see any hair growth, I thought I should schedule a second anyway. I came in and my technician, Blessing, told me it would be a waste of my money to treat the hair now since it was barely visible (which was totally awesome because I have tried laser at 5+ locations for the past 10 years and no treatment has worked this well!) I appreciated that blessing had my best interest in mind and wasn’t just trying to take my money without reason. Really pleasant experience.

First let me say, I was very apprehensive about trying a new derm, but today I am so happy that I decided not to let apprehension win!!!I got an appointment the next day. From the first encounter that I had over the phone with Ms. Latosha I knew that this experience was going to be amazing.Ms. Latosha was pleasant, answered all of my questions, and even navigated me to their office when I got lost— downtown DC is crazy.The office was clean and cozy. I was given a tablet to fill out all of my medical history— super easy. The office is also Metro accessible which is a plus. I live about an hour and a half away so I decided to drive. Use Metro if you can.Ms. Blessing, another gem — met me in the consult room and took some photos of my face. These photos were super hi- tech. I had never had a look at the skin on my face( or anywhere for that matter) before. The photos show what lies beneath our skin. You can really see how the skin looks below the surface… very cool— never had this opportunity before. Blessing performed my college infused microneedling procedure. She had an amazing bedside manner and explained the steps along the way. She checked on me periodically as the numbing medication did it’s job. She was such a pleasure to work with. She even went over and beyond to explain in great detail the steps to my at home regiment. I’m so proud of her— she really loves the work she does and it shows.Dr. Sarumi did my consult. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. She took her time, I NEVER felt rushed. She really made me feel at ease, she didn’t attempt to sell me a bunch of unnecessary product. We reviewed the pictures that Blessing took of my face and I was in complete awe. Dr. Sarumi was able to identify almost instantly what I needed to do to achieve my skin goals. That’s another thing, she REALLY cares about what it was that mattered to me. Most derms that I’ve seen in the past have the agenda of pushing product— with Dr. Sarumi this was not the case.So if you are in the market for a dermatologist that listens to your concerns, has a dynamic team that supports her, and simply knows what she’s talking about, look no further. Came here at the end of August for the Cosmelan Peel and couldn’t be happier! The service was superb! I came to my appointment a few minutes early and yet they were there to help me right away. My consultation with Dr. Sarumi was beyond professional and she very was friendly as well as straightforward. We talked about what skincare goal I was looking to achieve, the treatment I was getting, and the realistic expectations of the treatment. I was then ushered into the actual spa room to begin treatment and both Ms. Blessing and the receptionist (apologies but her name escapes me!) were helpful, knowledgeable, and professional the entire time. I have stubborn acne and even more stubborn acne scars, but the treatment I received here has been phenomenal!!! I tend to frequent spas and estheticians’ offices so I’m not new to them, but this one has been the best one I’ve been to so far hands down. Would highly recommend!!!!

I explained what I was looking for and the doctor explained what I needed to get the best results in the end. It was so educational! I have been here for dermaplaning and chemical peels. The service is top notch, the facility is clean and peaceful, and I leave every appointment glowing. Maybe it’s the level of peel I get, but the post-peel is not bad at all, i.e., I can go out in public, and yet I still get all the post-peel glow effects. Can’t wait to schedule my next appointment!

A New Skin is an awesome establishment! They offer many services. I have been to many dermatologists, as I have dealt with acne for as long as I can remember and a lot of times they prescribe oral or topical medication that do nothing; in many cases are not specific to your needs. Dr Sarumi knows exactly what she’s doing. She and her team do not push product or services on you unnecessarily. In fact, every time I achieve great results with any procedure, I immediately start pushing to do more or do something else she’d recommend. I have never been more satisfied with skincare services. A New Skin is a great team I 100% recommend them for anything you need!
